Fix fuerte source install rosinstall urls #332

Also: https://code.ros.org/trac/ros/ticket/4074 After following the directions the command rosinstall --catkin ~/ros-underlay http://ros.org/rosinstalls/fuerte-ros-full.rosinstall fails because the fuerte-ros-full.rosinstall has invalid git repositories. The following is an example of the error message. |
The following I also send as PM to you, but this ticket is a better location to discuss. I looked at fixing the broken instructions for fuerte install from source (outdated URLs in rosinstall) by using the gen_rosinstall script, but that will not do. gen_rosinstall does not currently know of all ros variants, nor does it generate valid rosinstall files for install from source: http://packages.ros.org/cgi-bin/gen_rosinstall.py?rosdistro=fuerte&variant=robot&overlay=no This starts with {'other': {'local-name': '/opt/ros/fuerte/share/ros'}} ... I believe I already send an email to you and Eitan about this some time in the past. Another way to fix this for the time being would be to fix the rosinstall files at http://ros.org/rosinstalls, but I lack access to do so myself. Would it help if I sent you updated rosinstall files to put up at http://ros.org/rosinstalls? |

Only the fuerte-ros-base.rosinstall file has been updated. The fuerte-ros-full.rosinstall file still has invalid git repositories. |
This command works for me now:
can you be more specific as to what git repository fails for you? Can you post the respective part of your local rosinstall file? |
