Beginners guide to install irchat. 1) in your home directory, create directory `elisp' (mkdir elisp) 2) copy irchat.elc into that directory. 3) then write the following lines in your ~/.emacs -file --8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<-- (setq load-path (append (list "~/elisp") load-path)) (autoload 'irchat "irchat" "Irchat" t) --8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<----8<-- and then you are ready to go with `M-x irchat' and if you want to send/receive files, copy dcc.perl (dcc) in some directory that is in your PATH environment variable. ------------------------------------------------------------------ - Version 3.0 and higher supports IDEA encryption. - Version 4.0 and higher supports MSN Messenger protocol. - Version 5.0 and higher supports UTF-8 from the network and has abolished MSN Messenger protocol. ------------------------------------------------------------------ To build your own irchat.elc $ make gnuemacs Makes full version for GNU Emacs $ make gnuemacs-nocrypto Makes version for GNU Emacs without crypto $ make gnuemacs-nocrypto-smallutf Makes version for GNU Emacs with smaller UNICODE tables and no crypto $ make xemacs Makes full version for XEmacs $ make xemacs-nocrypto Makes version for XEmacs without crypto $ make xemacs-nocrypto-smallutf Makes version for XEmacs with smaller UNICODE tables and no crypto
