We want Ricochet packaged for:

  • Debian
  • Ubuntu
  • Fedora (and other redhat systems)
  • Arch

In addition to writing the packages, each of these needs someone that is willing to volunteer to keep them up to date.

Would Debian Stable be possible to build for?
killyourtv hosts a Debian Repository (http://lqvh3k6jxck6tw7w.onion/debian/). It mainly is for I2P stuff, but it is available over his Tor hidden service address and by clearnet dropbox. He might be convinced to host such the Linux distributions.

I filed #23 to cover the cases like debian stable; they need to be built a bit differently, but from the research I've done so far it should be possible. It may be just a binary to start, with packaging coming later (hopefully by contribution!).

It's also possible to package for Ubuntu >= 14.04.

Some people have added an Arch package at https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ricochet-git/

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1264700 , I'm the reviewer.

But I still don't trust ricochet, not even tor/tox . 😂

Ricochet is packaged for debian, ubuntu, fedora, and arch, thanks to package maintainers for each of those platforms.
