PHP8.4 supported release

Will there be a release soon for the 0.7 branch with the 8.4 deprecation notice fixes? Or a backport of these fixes to a 0.6.6 release?

We've indeed prepared PHP 8.4 compatibility with #108 a while ago on the 0.7.x branch a while ago and for personal reasons haven't gotten around to preparing a release yet (see #72 and #31).

Seeing this major release will still take some non-trivial amount of work (and time), I've started backporting the relevant changes to the 0.6.x branch in #113 for the time being and plan to backport #108 to the 0.6.x branch in a follow-up. The plan would be to get a v0.6.6 out with the relevant changes as soon as time allows and continue working on the major effort without blocking this release.

We'll make sure to coordinate the release process and will update this ticket as soon as possible.
