Library detection problems in OSX #36

According to this commit, which has been apparently deleted, there seems to be a problem with detection in OSX.
According to @ugexe:

There appears to have been an issue with returning Str from the
CLIB helper related to unboxing. I'm not sure why reworking the
Str out of the sub fixes anything.

We need to add tests for OSX, as well as get that code back when we do.

The tests in MacOS seem to work fine.
