Configuration

/etc/auter/auter.conf is the main configuration file for Auter - it stores global variables that are sourced in the main Auter shell script.

/etc/cron.d/auter is the default location for setting the Auter cron schedules. It contains helpful examples that can be uncommented to quickly setup a schedule.

Logging

/var/lib/auter/last-prep-output-$CONFIGSET and /var/lib/auter/last-apply-output-$CONFIGSET. These files store the raw output from the package manager download/update commands, along with the date and time that the transaction completed on the first line, and a brief, machine readable status on the last line.

The status line has the format: STATUS:$state:$brief_description:$pkg_update_count. This can be useful for generating reporting on the number of packages prepare or installed, and whether it was successful.
