Available Clusters Architecture

Currently there are five clusters available to local developers and their general hardware and software architectures are given below.

Triolith architecture

Processors 8-core Intel Xeon E5-2660 "Sandy Bridge" processors at 2.2GHz

Compute node (thin) 2 sockets (16 cores) with 32 GB DDR3 1600 MHz memory (1544 nodes)

Compute node (fat) 2 sockets (16 cores) with 128 GB DDR3 1600 MHz memory (56 nodes)

Node scratch storage 800 TB (500 GB per node)

Operating system CentOS Linux 6

Akka architecture

Processors low power Intel Xeon quad-core L5420 CPUs

Compute node 2 sockets (8 cores) with 16 GB memory (672 nodes)

Node scratch storage 100 TB

Operating system Ubuntu 12.04 (Precise)

Abisko architecture

Processors (thin) AMD Opteron 6238 (Interlagos) 12 core 2.6 GHz

Processors (fat) AMD Opteron 6344 (Abu Dhabi) 12 core 2.6 GHz

Compute node (thin) 4 sockets (48 cores) with 128 GB memory (322 nodes)

Compute node (fat) 4 sockets (48 cores) with 512 GB memory (10 nodes)

Node scratch storage 171 TB (500 GB per thin node, 1 TB per fat node)
