I added this using github form, so I didn’t confirm that the markup was correct. Docs build but there is no preview to validate the results, I will look locally later.

In the future target changes to docs to main and backport. Now we'll have to cherry-pick this to main.

Ah, I reacted to Pablo’s message asking core devs to check the whatsnew, and it wasn’t clear to me that adding to 3.11 whatsnew needed to follow the usual workflow. I would have closed and re-opened this PR if I had seen your comment earlier!
