Hi everybody! 👏

We all at Public Lab 🎈 - learn, grow, work, brainstorm ideas, contribute together so why not share about our weekly goals and the awesome work we have done at Public Lab with each other, so we can support and collaborate with each other better. We have a Community Check-In each week, where every community member can share something about their work from the past week and about their current week's goal 🎯 . You are also welcome to share fun-fact 😄 , new ideas 💡 , your learning goals ☑️.

We believe in collaborative efforts to support our community. We are running a learning platform which helps a newcomer to become a leader of tomorrow. 💯

Welcome Outreachy Winter aspirants ❤️

This week at Publiclab we welcome the Outreachy Winter aspirants who wish to contribute to Publiclab 🎈

We are super excited to have you all here 🙌 Let's have an amazing winter together 🚀

hey, @Tlazypanda Thanks so much for making this check-in!!

I was exploring CP, development where I came to know about open source. I made my first contribution a few days ago. Last week I set up the project on my local machine, going through the codebase is a little overwhelming, but looking forward to learn and contribute.

Hey @Tlazypanda , hi everyone, I'm an engineer in computer science, I'm freshly new to contributing and github, I feel sometimes overwhelmed with all the functionalities and the workflow, but I'm doing my best to understand each step ✌️ , I'm also new with ruby on rails, I'm following an awesome course abt it, I've had some exp with PHP and Laravel.
I like the energy shared in this community, it motivates me to do more each time, I'm really happy to be part of this 😄

Hi all, for Outreachy applicants, we first like to get to know you a bit in the weekly check-ins, and to help you try a first timers only issue, from https://code.publiclab.org. We're really interested in helping folks make their first steps and get oriented, especially newcomers. Thanks for showing up and for your interest in our community and project!

@DalilaBA feeling overwhelmed is totally understandable, and our codebase is a bit old and complex -- not a freshly written nice tidy thing! But we're here to help out. You don't need to understand the whole thing to make really helpful contributions. We strive to put as much context as you need into each well-prepared issue! Welcome!!

Hi @Ash-KODES if it's not your first time, would you consider helping someone else complete their own, who may be stuck or need encouragement? Or, would you be interested in creating a first-timers-only issue yourself, for someone else? Thank you!!!!

I believe this should be moved to a separate issue, so that it doesn't clutter the weekly check-in!

Hi @anirudhprabhakaran3 i think opening a new issue is a good idea. But let's be sure people know that it's perfectly OK to ask for help here! I'm sorry i should have opened one earlier but had been replying from my phone while away from the computer.

Thanks for your patience @DalilaBA -- I've opened an issue at #10134 to dig into this! Sorry for the trouble!
