  1. They overlap the song name
  2. Cannot see if they are deactivated if one taps on them (the image remains black).

@owncloud/designers Any ideas how to improve this on small screens?

Mobile apps in general don't provide the shuffle and repeat options in the small playerbar. Mobile apps tend to have two or more views;

  • the navigation view to browse through tracks including a small playerbar at top or bottom (much like the current Music app)
  • the playlist view with large album art, play controls (prev, next, play/pause), shuffle and repeat

The Music app currently lacks the second view but I believe it is scheduled to be incorporated some time.

@MorrisJobke By the way, in mobile it is not possible to seek forward/backward, right? I mean the progress bar is not visible intentionally?

@wakeup yeah, the progress bar would be part of the second view as well.

Maybe we should do something like: When you tap on the artist name / song / album cover part of the player bar, it slides down a little (or fully) and exposes some additional things like the player bar and the shuffle/repeat buttons.

Wrap the controls pane to two lines once the window is narrow enough.
This allows us to keep the progress bar and volume control visible on
all but the narrowest possible windows, including e.g. practically all
mobile devices also on portrait mode. This also fixes the age-old
problem of song title overlapping the shuffle and repeat buttons on
mobile portrait screens. Even the skip previous button can now be kept
on some portrait mobile screens.

This age-old issue is now finally fixed in Music v1.7.0 by using two-line layout for the controls bar on narrow screens.
