I would like to see the ability to drop in templates from outside sources (other cookbooks). Currently we use nine disk array technologies not supported by this cookbook. We would much rather use this community cookbook rather than port one. Would you consider a pull request for such an enhancement?

How about adding support for the other disk array technologies?

This may not be the direction you're wanting to go and I would totally understand. A hardcoded template per storage array technology would not allow for custom tuning (specifically in the devices section). For example, we tune our multipath config slightly different than the HP recommended guide. I don't think it would benefit the community to add our custom templates (that differ from HP's official recommendation) to the community cookbook. If we could allow for custom attributes in the default template, then we could account for many more use cases and still keep the cookbook intact. See #8 for an example.
