Calling fetch on the repo doesn't seem to have any effect.

Easiest work around for now is to remove the repo and re-clone. Related ticket on the nodegit repo nodegit/nodegit#742 .

This was largely a configuration issue issue after upgrading NodeGit. However, NodeGit really doesn't pull down annotated tags when the update button is used.
