Inquiry about reaching Mentors

Has anyone reached out to their mentor? If yes, how so?
Are we to send a personal mail to them with a simple "Hi, my name is x, I am an outreachy applicant". Or do we just send the message here publicly and maybe tag them here?

yes i think so, introduce yourself properly to them in the mail

Introduce yourself here and get started with the project. There are lots of applicants so you might not get a quick response from the mentors. If you have a question, do ask and a contributor or mentor would answer it.

In general, please do not send personal emails or IMs to mentors. I have updated the guidance here -- please use the discussion channels that have already been set up. This allows us to respond effectively where it is most needed (currently, we are having trouble with email overload).

Yes,you can provide a link for them to view it through your google docs and paste them here or when you are done with your overall contribution send them a mail.
Like @seanlip said the emails of mentors are overloaded and they won't be able to reply everyone but would rather go through our chat discussions here.
Also learn from other contributors mistakes,questions,answers and reviews they made because not everyone will have theirs reviewed.
