How many story outlines do we have to create?

@Kebith For task 2, I have broken down the topic into different lessons. Do I have to create a story outline for each lesson or just 1 lesson is enough like the script?

No, the story outline is for all lessons but the script is only for lesson one.

Hi @Bethelhem-Gebre just as the Lesson creation guide says, a topic will have one story that spans across different lessons. In this, you are drafting the high-level story for each lesson. So one story outline for all the lessons not one story outline for each lesson. Your single story would be a huge kind that would span across the lessons, more like a developing story.

You can try playing through Oppia's Fraction lesson on the app to see how it was done. In it, they kept on using the same protagonist(s) for every lesson and as they progressed the only thing that changed was introducing new characters that helped hone the skills of the protagonist(s) in using Fractions and how complex the fraction equations were, because now the child has learnt the basics and is learning more.

In general, to plan a story, follow these steps in order:
(a) Find situations where the skills being taught are necessary.
(b) Find a way to thread these into a compelling story.
(c) Write the story.

The story should be very simple, but it should be goal-oriented, having a plot. It shouldn't be just someone "teaching and explaining".

I've had a chance to review this helpful sample story outline document here, and it appears that we are tasked with creating a story outline for each lesson within a specific topic.

However, the goal is to maintain consistency in the characters throughout these outlines, while also introducing new characters strategically to reinforce knowledge from previous lessons. Also, the story outlines should capture scenarios that are relevant to all the lessons within the given topic.

And just like @Amarachhhiii said, you can try playing a lesson on Oppia's app to get an idea of how it's done.

Hi @wendeee the story outline isn't for each lesson. It is a progressive story, which means there would be a change of setting, scenery, and character introduction. It is basically like a movie/play, you have your protagonist(s) and your story is telling how your protagonist(s) is progressively learning and gaining the skills you listed through the lessons that are available.

Saying it is for each lesson would be saying we are creating different documents for the story outline of each lesson which then would mean that the stories would be different.
