Hey @perdasilva, thanks for taking a look at this. I think I'd rather see this dependency be dropped, and the hybrid concept go away. @joelanford and I had a discussion about this a few weeks ago, when we were dealing with dependency issues across projects.

I've added dropping hydrid support to the community meeting tomorrow. If others agree to that, I can finish the work I started to drop/remove this from the project.

@perdasilva just curious, is there a reason to update to 3.14.0 -> 3.15.0 -> 4.0.0 instead of 3.14.0 -> 4.0.0 directly?
