@Kevin-Mattheus-Moerman Kevin-Mattheus-Moerman added the query-scope Submissions of uncertain scope for JOSS label Jul 1, 2022

@robchallen I have just assigned the query scope label which means I have triggered a scope review by our editorial board. This is typical for submission around this size. We will review if this work complies with our "substantial scholarly effort" criteria, and if it has sufficient functionality and enough of a research application. This additional scope review will take about 2 weeks to complete.

@Kevin-Mattheus-Moerman just a quick note. I've been through the (somewhat tortuous) process of getting this library on CRAN. This required a minor rework of some of the functions, and documentation fixes, so I've bumped the version to 0.2.4 (which has a branch and release).

I don't know if that influences the additional scope review or not, bout thought you should be aware anyway.

@robchallen the board has decided this work may be in scope for JOSS. Hence I've removed the quary-scope label. The board did have some recommendations, i.e. that the work is submitted to CRAN (which it sounds like you've done). If so, you can probably remove the statement dtrackr is in early development. It is not yet available on CRAN. from the README.

We will now proceed to try to find a handling editor for this submission. Unfortunately we have a backlog of submissions at the moment and our editors are handling many other submissions. Therefore we will waitlist this work for the moment until a suitable editor becomes available.

@ajstewartlang you were suggested as handling editor. Is this work something you could help edit?
