This would be step 1 to rebrand Parity.

  • parity: renamed to purity
  • parity-version: bumped to 2.0.0
  • updated scripts
  • updated docs
  • fixed tests

We can choose any name we want. Just sed purity. Please test and discuss.

Some steps that need to be taken before this is mergeable (just documenting here).

  1. A blog post explaining timeline and motivations
  2. Code changes
  3. Doc changes
  4. Infrastructure changes (across the entire org, like parity-deploy, install scripts, snapcraft, homebrew, docker, etc.. this needs fuller review of affected things)
  5. Website updates including migration strategy
  6. Time for community feedback and adoption
