Project philosophy

I try to declare what I want from this project to be, for the near future.

• Well-thought introduction of features.
• Support as many phones as it can.
• Be stable and practical to use.
• Usability as a tradeoff for ideology. For example, some may want to see VC4 drivers, but OMX player and EGL2.0 works right now.

Things that are planned in the future, but not considered high priority right now:

• Custom touchscreens/screen sizes.
• Ham radio/Software-defined radio.
• ODB-II.
• Bluetooth integration.
• Custom boards other than the Pi.

What it will not likely be:

• A replacement for the car stereo in your dash.
• A retropie/kodi/xbmc system.
• A backup cam.
• A dash cam.
• A standalone Media/music player. If you want something like that, have a look at this project.
• Have it run on an Android tablet. If you want something that runs on a tablet, use this project.
• A central controller for your car. You would have to fork to make your own project (and I'm totally happy to see/support any effort with what I know).
• A money printer for the author.
