We are working on a new premium version that will replace the current one and will include several improvements, including the suggested one. The ETA is Q2 2024.

Just curious how you folks are coming towards the Q2 2024 goal for the update? And any information that you can share on how the premium version will work?

Hi Denise, we are working hard to release the product in September. We are currently in the beta testing phase.

Thanks for the comment in July that it could be a September release.

  1. Are things looking good for September?
  2. Will this require licensing? (Note we publish to the Power BI Service and use it that way.)
  3. If so, can you provide information on how an enterprise organization like mine would do that? (Would like to get something going because my company is painfully slow to get things in place.)

Unfortunately, a lot has happened and we have decided to postpone the launch to the end of October. Yes, the visual will require a license and we will offer several options: you can purchase it through AppSource (AppSource license) or our website (OKVIZ license). We are finalizing the documentation, but in the meantime you can check out this page: https://docs.okviz.com/synoptic-panel/versions/.
As for the pricing model, we are still defining it, but you can choose to pay per user or per Power BI node.

As I said, I don't have yet final prices, but you can decide between licensing the capacity or the users, whatever is more convenient for you.

  • Users: The licensing has tiers; for example, if you want to license 400 users, you get the 201-500 tier that has a monthly or yearly billing subscription that cover all the users (the more users you have, the lower the price per user within the tier).

Note that both the person who creates the report and the person who reads it is considered a user.

  • Capacity: Alternatively, you can license the capacity where you host the reports using the visual; in this case, the pricing doesn’t depend on the number of users.

These are the nodes I war referring to and it should reflect your current Power BI/Fabric capacity.

The price should start from $3 per user (at the lower tier) to $0.5 (at the higher tier) per month.
