…er. Updated Comments on the shipyard file.
Now I guess I will work on the guidebook. (Done) |
Well I added a guidebook page and addressed all the things you wanted me to change. |
Double check your Resources/Prototypes/_NF/Shipyard/osprey.yml file D: It looks like there may have been an accidental overwrite. |
Hello! I had just made a nice cup of coffee so I thought it'd be nice to walk through a shuttle. I'm a simple contributor and community member who wanted to take a look : ) so take my reflections as you will. Initial impression: I'm sure the Eagle and Sparrow will appreciate some more bird friends. Though I think the Kestrel might want to have words. Engineering:

General impressions: This shuttle is not wanting for interior space. If you wanted to load up a lot of stuff you absolutely can. In the case of the Osprey I currently find myself thinking that there is room for the ship's internal space to be devoted to really leaning into emphasizing spaces and the personality of those areas. This ship is very large! But I see suits for 5 and a single bed in a living room. It feels like some of the more crew and spaces elements are still emerging. There's space to spare and the engineering bay looks a little bit like it was a place to put things. There's an ore processor but it's just in a corner. I feel like if you really leaned into making the best possible use of the space that you have given yourself that you could produce a ship that is a joy for the people who are occupying it and in the process of doing so differentiating the hull and its mission from shuttles such as the Bulker, the Charon and even the Comet. You have a tremendous amount of real estate and floor space available that could work to your benefit to really infuse the ship with some defining character. |
Another random dude here! Would it look a little less bare if you decalled the wide open areas? |
fixed. |
so um. accidentally closed it. |
… did that were meant to be done last commit.
Yeah I'm very far away from being able to merge this right now so I turned it into a draft. |
About the PR
Added a new salvage ship called the Osprey.
Birds are natures spaceships kind of. Unfortunately, there aren't any salvage ships designed after birds. Technically there is the kestrel but it is a bird in name only (it's just a triangle). So I have (hopefully) added the third medium-sized bird inspired shuttle to frontier sector.
Any feedback on the ship would be appreciated.
Why / Balance
The Osprey is a medium sized shuttle meant for salvaging/mining, maybe some cargo, it has the space. There is enough salvaging equipment for four salvagers (including the Captain/QM) and one pilot. It has secret rooms
for smugglingthat don't get used that much, because most buyers don't know about them. They are really just there to complete the wing shape.Features:
