This should fix #16

Hey @davedash, would you consider merging this and cutting a new release? This is breaking pip install for Python 3 environments.

This reverts commit c4dc63fcb43056d71c2d63bac0a90ca0c2c0a0ad.

We are having deployment issues with Mozilla's unicode-slugify due to
mozilla/unicode-slugify#22, and have found a
Django-only solution that may be acceptable.
