When I'm in a certain container, I'm more likely to open certain websites. Thus, when starting to type a website address in the address bar, it would be nice if sites I frequently use in that container get listed higher in the suggestions than in other containers.

This is out of scope of this extension certainly however it is a nice idea certainly.

My understanding is that web extensions won't ever be able to change the sort order of the awesomebar.

For this to be in stable Firefox we would need to start tagging history by what container they are in (@bakulf have you been looking into this at all, I know you were looking for hard things to solve) then we could likely sort by frecency or whatever per container.
