So there's rule34.xxx (supported), rule34.xyz (#1078), and now rule34.us ...

This site does not only contain naughty things, it is naughty itself: It claims to be Gelbooru 0.1.11, but it doesn't answer to any API calls.

The trusty Animebox.es Android app doesn't see any posts on that site using the Gelbooru API, either. Very naughty :-(

Edit: But just scraping the URL from the HTML source of the site does work and the site OFC has a lot of other delicious data gallery-dl could hand over via JSON file.

Seems to work like other Gelbooru sites, at least conceptually. Maybe looks a bit more polished, not sure.

Everything seems working, so far. By the way, is there some kind of (unofficial) ranking for those booru sites?
I mean, none of them is the original source for any material, as far as I can tell..

@Hrxn I tried it with and without the conf file entry and it doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?

@arisboch there is nothing you can do to get this site to work with gallery-dl right now. As HRXN said, it is running a modified version of Gelbooru 0.1.11 and it is modified to such an extend that it needs special code to work. The gelbooru_v01 and gelbooru_v02 modules don't cut it here.

Well, Danbooru came first, followed by Gelbooru I think, which was a "fork" of the original Danbooru. Most other Boorus use a more or less modified version those two code bases.

@mikf And these guys didn't even publish the API documentation of their Frankenstein monster of a booru site they cobbled together from the "corpse" of Gelbooru >:-(
