Unable to build newly set up app in monorepo

I'm making an app in a pnpm monorepo on a Windows VM, and I'm unfamiliar with Windows dev, so bear with me.

I've completed the environment setup steps, running the following as an administrator in Powershell:

However, when I try to run react-native run-windows, it seems it can't find a bunch of dependencies belonging to the react-native-windows package, because it's looking for react-native-windows in the workspace directory when it should be looking inside the monorepo root.

What's the most elegant way to solve this?

Looks like I can solve it by manually editing the .sln (in my case, banana.sln) to prepend ..\..\ to the paths.

There was also a follow-up issue. It looks like react-native-windows also expects to be run alongside a closely-corresponding version of react-native, because it compiles some of the files from it. When I used [email protected] alongside [email protected], react-native-windows was unable to find some C++ files from Yoga. Updating to [email protected] to get them both on the same minor version fixed that.

Closing, though will be interested in better monorepo support in future.
