Microsoft PowerToys version

0.47+

Installation method

Area(s) with issue?

Keyboard Manager

Steps to reproduce

I lot of bugs reported about the problem without any progress

Powertoys started like very useful tool, but, at some point, it started to annoy - nothing more annoying than your shortcuts does not worked sometimes. Like it was mentioned - pretty a lot of reports about it. I did not collect all of them.

Few days ago I created even more complicate keys combination and found that even old 0.68 (because new releases loose alt+tab every 15 minutes) fails with it too. I even thought that the problem is with my new keyboards.

I went to very old version and found that keys work ike a charm, and looks like it works even faster than before.

So, for anyone who is interested - the last version which works perfect is 0.46.0. Everything after does not work: I tried: 0.68.1, 0.62.1, 0.59.1, 0.49.1, 0.47.1, 0.47.0 - nothing works

Just to highlight it one more time 0.46 is the last good version

I someone knows good alternative for the PT, please comment about it. Because feels like PT unfortunately is not usable any more for the last few years

It is not very related to the issue, modern PT is buggy even on some simple remaps. Just for history here is my current configuration:

I have used AutoHotKey for remapping since this bug happend 2 years ago, and key-bmap for ctrl&alt switchinng, and they both work well.

It is a software that lets U change key assignments through the registry. U can use .reg to change them.
U need to change the Google search language to Simplified Chinese and U can get the results.

@ID-VerNe I know some remappers with reg, but they does not help to remap ctrl+tab to alt+tab. This is the reason I sticked to powertoys
