Is this saying that metaplex can't be used for Token2022 metadata? |

No, you can absolutely use metaplex token metadata with token22: https://developers.metaplex.com/token-metadata/token-2022 |

A simple fix for the misleading error message of InstructionNotSupported error which occurs when you call a legacy instruction that isn't supported by pNFT OR Token2022
