I have same versions as @moussetc and for the OS on android, I run lineage 20221206, my wife has the same issues and run oxygenos 12. |

I also noticed an issue, when opening the app while I was in a direct message conversation, for a brief time (500ms) I see the profile picture of my correspondent full screen. |
Just got a longer freeze, got an insane amount of those (without anything in between):
I'd like to add that my server is ipv6 capable the android client is using ipv6 (checked nginx logs). I don't think that should be changing anything, but you might want to test that in your setup. |

The The "Unable to get properties..." one worries me a bit more. Nevertheless, I haven't seen it happening on any of our devices. Does the same happen if you join our community server? (https://community.mattermost.com) If the same happens, it may be a device/os specific issue, and we may have to get an environment similar to yours. If community works fine, may be something particular from your server (may be even one single post that has something special that didn't happen to appear on our tests), so we could take a look in that direction. |
When I try to join the community mattermost server, I am stuck on a screen with nothing except the background (with the gray S like curve). In logs:

That may be a known issue, fixed already but I think the fix didn't get to the build you are using (we only saw that issue on e2e tests, never on real devices). Does it happens always? If you go back (I guess the back arrow does appear on the top left) and try to connect again, happens again? |
Yes, restarting app doesn't help either. |
Can you confirm your build number? (In the about page) If it is 452, can you try the beta app? It should be already on 453, and the fix for the login page should be in place. |
(Note : i just tried to install Mattermost Beta, the install itself failed. The version from the store is 2.0.0 from January 20) |
Sorry. Another known issue we have fixed but not yet delivered... Right now you cannot have installed both beta and the main app :( That will be fixed in the near future. |
@larkox I have been able to join the community instance, for some reason, the error which was appearing "all the time before", was very hard to reproduce after an app restart, it took me about 30 minutes of playing with my phone to trigger it. I finally did trigger it when switching from my server to the community server, the error below appeared when the community channel list was displayed. Now that it has been triggered once, it happens on nearly everything I do (like focusing the text field, switching channel...) on both instances. And the app is very sluggish.

I was able to get the error that froze the app completely requiring a restart. It is still the same error, but maybe a detail from the log can help.

@enahum I don't know, I use Gboard and the input field has always been empty. I was also able to freeze the app without displaying the keyboard once. I found a way to reproduce the freeze 100%:
Note: I do have "Remove animations" option enabled in "Text and display" accessibility settings. |
Interesting about the "Remove Animations" this looks like this can be that the bottom sheet is not completely dismissed. @larkox can you try and reproduce that on monday? Thanks. |
I have installed the beta and not seen much difference. It stills hangs, and even crashed once (after I posted a message containing a link to the RN issue mentioned above, ironically). I am on a Samsung device, using the samsung keyboard, without the accessibility setting "remive animations" enabled. A friend of mlne also has hanging issues with the app (same server), but does not have a Samsung phone. |
I also have problems with the app freezing and chats opening with a lot of delay. System Info:

I also experience freezes, Samsung S21 with One UI 5.0, Android 13 and display of 120 Hz. Maybe the 120 Hz refresh rate has something to do with the UI freeze issue? |
As the issue seems to be taking some time, reminder to people for which the V2 is near unusable right now that they can get an earlier version APK from the Releases page, while waiting for the fix. |
fwiw, updating to the newly released v2.0.1 has squashed these issues for me. Been running solid without any of the previous errors I documented in #7030 (comment) since updating. |
I am testing with v2.0.1. Things seems a bit more stable, I will close this issue when the freezing are gone. I will also open separate issues for specific problems. |
I might have fixed my issues by disabling Settings -> Advanced -> Allow message drafts to sync with the server. Please give it a try. |
Update on my part: using version 2.1.0 (server 7.5.2), the app is now usable, but still, sometimes it stops responding or lags, and there is globally a slower feel that on the V1. |

I just installed v2 on android and I have quite a few issues, I can provide more details (context, device logs...) but before I go through the effort, I'd like to have a first feedback on what you think deserve an issue and what is already in the work.
