I wish Mailpile would support CardDAV for contacts, which would allow sharing of contacts between eg. Mailpile, and Thunderbird, and a smartphone.
Besides, it would help self-hosting of mail and contacts, using Davical for example, and avoid a monster like SOGo or OBM.

For the same reasons, I wish Mailpile would support CalDAV, although I understand that calendar management is less close to the core job of managing mail… It would be great, though, for handling invitations, reminders, and so on.

Thanks.

Possible duplicate of #104.

There is already some basic support for CardDAV proxied through a generic WebDAV class. Expanding to support CalDAV is relatively easy if somebody makes a calendar plugin - not an urgent thing for us right now.

Note that although CardDAV code exists, it currently isn't hooked in to the contact manager in any meaningful way... time, time...

Closing this, since it's actually already implemented, even though it isn't attached to the main codebase yet - that's being worked on in the general contacts management issue.

@smari you should probably also close #104 then.
