npx wordpressify hangs in Windows installing npm packages

Apologies if this is my fault, I'm very new to this :) this is like my 4th or 5th time trying to get a decent dev environment setup

I have a Win10 setup with WSL2, Docker working. I uninstalled Node 10 and installed latest Node 14.17.0
Created a new directory
Change to new directory in regular command prompt
Typed npx wordpressify - at step 3 it fails with following output. Note that this error is different from other similar issues previously raised, where it says Command failed: id -u rather than TypeError: process.getuid is not a function

I think you're not running this in WSL, but in bare Windows. Try running in WSL, it should work.

Thank you, yes you are right, running from Windows command prompt. Docker runs from Windows, so I'm not sure I understand how I should run Wordpressify from within WSL? Ubuntu in WSL does not have access to Windows file structure and vice versa, except through modules like VSCode and whatever Docker uses to bridge them.

Little by little I'm thinking Windows + WSL is like scratching right ear with left hand... easier just to throw out Windows!

I think you actually do have access to Windows file structure in WSL. But I can't help beyond this; I've thrown out Windows and I run Debian.
