Use PHP Exception instead of PHPUnit Exception class.

On production installs phpunit should not be installed, so the `throw new \PHPUnit\Framework\Exception('xxx')` throws an `Uncaught Exception Error: "Class 'PHPUnit\Framework\Exception' not found" `
