Just merged new flash layout: esp8266/Arduino#5103
See also esp8266/Arduino#5096
So as a test, using the staged version.

If someone with a Shelly1 could test this build to see if an OTA update is possible. For this purpose, 2 builds with different build time are included.
Please show me the last part of the sysinfo page after flashing.

I was thinking, it could also be flashed on a new 4M node.
Maybe you have one with you in the forrest where you're now? ;)

I had a look at a shelly video and I must say this thing looks promising. But- can I actually buy it anywhere ? And what does it cost ?

I have ordered mine from their own store for about 10 euro each.
Amazon had them on their site, but out of stock.
And the people from Shelly emailed me there would be a first restock somewhere this week so they could ship the backorders.

I looked as well those devices, one thing scary me a lot, the fact that there's no separation between GND and LIVE wire!
Indeed the same happend with POW/POW2 but there's a reason there to allow measurement of V and A, but in this device is too dangerous in my opinion as unexperienced person can easily get a shock by the LIVE AC Main wire!

@papperone Have you found any schematics?

Good to know this info.
I am working on an isolated programmer for my Sonoffs and apparently these also need such a programmer.

By the way, I just got an email from Shelly that they are performing the last tests and expect to ship my order on the 18th. So by the end of next week I should have received mine.

no schematics available but I got the info from this review https://youtu.be/J20hxfUTP9I
it's not a teardown but the guy said this is even been told by the manufacturer!

With core 2.5.0 we now have 2MB partition with 256 k SPIFFS.
That's working just fine, so this one can be closed.
