EmPact - iOS

Overview

This application assists people experiencing homelessness to become aware of and locate resources. The integration of technology in homelessness resource distribution will improve accessibility, increase impact, and empower the homeless population.

Features:

1. Search for surrounding resources in New York City by category, including shelters, healthcare, food, hygiene, outreach services, education, legal administrative, and jobs.

2. Easily find the shelter currently closest to the user.

3. View a list of resources organized by category, and further filtered by subcategory.

4. Select individual resources in order to see detailed information including address, phone number, hours, primary services offered, admission details, and current distance.

5. View resource locations with an embedded map, and click to be guided to Google Map app or browser to view directions.

6. Ability for application to be translated into Spanish coming soon.
