Once this feature is generally available (timeline unknown), we should support VMs being added to VM Scale Sets, in addition to the current way of managing Scale Sets with instances defined as part of the scale set configuration. This work should start with a design proposal. There are currently some unknowns, for example: How will this be supported by Azure Cloud provider? Will the "VM" orchestration map to
Machines
and "VMScaleSet" toMachinePools
, or should they both be aMachinePool
story? How will the Scale Set resource be created for a MachineDeployment for the former?Anything else you would like to add:
