Update to JupyterLab 4

Update to JupyterLab 4 and make some adjustements to the code base:

• Use the upgrade script from: https://jupyterlab.readthedocs.io/en/latest/extension/extension_migration.html#jupyterlab-3-x-to-4-x
  • This includes changes to the Python packaging (now using hatch like other lab extensions)
  • Update @jupyterlab packages
  • IDefaultFileBrowser is now provided as its own token
• Open the "Quick Open" as a modal (similar to other IDEs)
• Add Accel Shift P as the default shortcut to open the modal

Wondering if you would be interested in moving it to the jupyterlab-contrib organization: https://github.com/jupyterlab-contrib? I would be happy to help with the maintenance, and maybe also consider moving it into core lab at some point: jupyterlab/jupyterlab#4767

@jtpio Thank you for taking the time to update the project to work with JLab v4. I have not had time to maintain it and do not expect that to change for the foreseeable future. I'd be happy to have it move to jupyterlab-contrib if you think it's useful to the community and there's a better chance of maintenance there.

Would you suggest getting v4 support working here first, followed by a transfer to jupyter-contrib or vice versa?

Yes I would be happy to help with maintenance.

Probably it would be easier to move it first, so we can iterate more quickly without having to request a review from you each time.

I have opened jupyterlab-contrib/jupyterlab-contrib.github.io#78 to start the process.
