For a bit of help, this is a screenshot of the fx in the forest WITHOUT FFNx and original PC 1998 vanilla game with patch 1.02.

Software rendering on the original game gets it right because it skips the blending that the GPU has to do.
The real fix to this issue is to investigate where that draw call is being created in the engine and fix it's blending logic which is set wrongly ( currently is AVG, should be NONE ).
Even with vanilla game + default FFNx settings, some Fx or the WM are not working.
