If you want to add new relationships you can follow the instructions below, but do NOT remove the "Patient/Caregiver" relationship if you want the Connect for Life™ distribution to work as intended.

To manage a "Relationship Type" you need to go to "Manage Relationship Types" in the "Person" section of the "Advanced Administration" page.

After clicking the link, you should see a "Relationship Type Management" page.

Add relationship type

At the "Relationship Type Management" page, click "Add Relationship Type” to move to "Relationship Type Form".

On the "Relationship Type Form" there are three fields to fill in: A is to B, B is to A, Description. "A is to B” and "B is to A” fields define both sides of the relationship while in Description field you can describe some details about this relation. After adding the relationship, it should be visible on the "Relationship Type Management" page. Added relationships should be visible and able to be added in the pages "Patient" and "Caregiver" registration and "Patient" and "Caregiver" profile.

After that, A is to B, B is to A and Description fields can be edited and saved using "Save Relationship Type". Also, "Retire Relationship Type" and "Delete Relationship Type Forever" buttons are present. After editing and saving all changes the relationship type should be visible on the page "Relationship Type Management", "Patient" and "Caregiver" registration and "Patient" and "Caregiver" profile.

Retire relationship type

To retire a relationship type, you need to type a reason in the "Reason" field and click on "Retire Relationship Type" in the "Edit Relationship Type" page.

After retiring, the relationship type should have a strikethrough line on the "Relationship Type Management" page and should not be visible on "Registration" and "Profile" pages.

The relationship type can be unretired by clicking the "Unretire Relationship Type" button in the "Edit Relationship Type" page.

Delete relationship type

To delete a relationship type you need to click on "Delete Relationship Type Forever" button in the "Edit Relationship Type" page and then click "Yes" on the Confirmation Box.
