This includes the remaining missing emoji for 15.1 (per #78) as well as updates to the existing family emoji.

I'm just the PR assembler on behalf of Discord. The art is courtesy of Jason Sofonia and a new contributor Gica Tan (Sr. Illustrator @ Discord).

I've included the README update to add Gica's name to the list of contributors and note that Kevin is now unfortunately ex-Discord.

Curious why many of the "family" style emojis were replaced with less detailed versions?

Example: https://github.com/jdecked/twemoji/pull/83/files#diff-5c4f84966a13a08d2ecab0e0e5ee04c3bd3929f8098ad95622c76d25ffab9ba4

This was a recommendation made by the Emoji Subcommittee as part of transitioning away from detailed family emoji, whose sheer number of possible variations caused issues. You can read more about this recommendation here (PDF download of accepted proposal).
