[FEATURE] Add automatic gain compensation to the output signal #234
Comments
Hmm, I'm not sure I understand the issue here... ChowTape does not currently have an auto-gain option, new or old. Perhaps you were asking about the new auto-gain option in ChowMatrix? |
Oh, I thought the auto-gain option was on the ChowTape. I mistakingly made
my original auto-grain feature request for the wrong plugin, ChowMatrix
instead of ChowTape. Any chance for a similar auto-gain feature for
ChowTape?

Adding a similar auto-gain feature in ChowTape would be a pretty significant under-taking, just because of how many parameters the plugin has. Adding the feature is definitely a possibility for future versions, but we don't currently have a timeline planned for when the next versions of ChowTape will be happening. When we know a little bit more, I can update this ticket if it looks like we'll be able to get this feature into the next release. |
Thanks. Rather than implement continual auto-gain with every gain affecting
perimeter, to start with, it might be simpler to do something similar to
how Tokyo Dawn Labs does gain matching in their TDR plugins, which is
triggered only at the time user manually selects to do so.

In v2.10 of ChowTape, Right-clicking on the Wet gain control doesn't provide the new auto-gain options, nothing happens in Ableton 11, in Catalina OS, on a Macbook 2012, using the double-finger touchpad, ctrl-one finger touchpad gesture, or a mouse?
