The user needs to be able to hide information that is not useful to him. Possibly we can have it in the new section at the sidebar. WDYT?

Not branches, but commits.
Also users need to be able to pick which commits to show.

It a bigger story that follows up #2392 . We'll come to that when time comes. First we need to address #2457 and some other more important stuff.
