@djdv thanks for pointing to the existing doc!

@drwasho your documentation should suggest to build using:

go install -ldflags="-X "github.com/ipfs/go-ipfs/repo/config".CurrentCommit=XXXXXXX"

or:

go build -ldflags="-X "github.com/ipfs/go-ipfs/repo/config".CurrentCommit=XXXXXXX"
