Overview of Keycap Making Steps

This is meant to be a brief overview, you can find the details for all steps within this wiki. There's also a walkthrough video here.

1. Sculpt a master in clay on a sculpting base (or place blank on master base)
2. Mix silicone, pour over master and cavity mold
3. Place uncured silicone in pressure pot (if available)
4. Let silicone cure/harden
5. Place cured silicone with clay master in freezer for 30 minutes. Do not freeze cavity mold or blanks, only needed for clay
6. Demold everything
7. Trim edges with scissors or sharp knife
8. Mix resin, pour in mold, place cavity mold on top
9. Let resin cure/harden (in pressure pot if available)
10. Demold resin keycap
11. Snip sprues
12. Let resin finish curing for a day
13. Sand bottom until smooth
14. Done!
