Hi Henner,
First of all, thanks for writing upnp-display. I've used it as part of my music player project https://github.com/mlos/nemo and I took the liberty to extend it to be able to use multiple back end targets, one of which is https://github.com/mlos/inbus, particularly https://github.com/mlos/inbus.client.cpp.
The command line options have been left intact for backwards compatibility.
