It might be interesting to migrate from gdb-protocol, which has been at version 0.1.0 for two years to gdbstub, which aims to be ergonomic and easy-to-integrate and is actively developed.

gdbstub 0.5 has been announced at reddit.

I think this could also replace our gdb_parser.rs taken from luser/rust-gdb-remote-protocol, which we use to manually parse the protocol using nom.
