commit 68c034f upstream. Quit from splice_write if pipe->nrbufs is 0 for avoiding oops in virtio-serial. This may happen in a following situation: (1) The application normally does splice(read) from a kernel buffer, then does splice(write) to virtio-serial. (2) The application receives SIGINT when is doing splice(read), so splice(read) is failed by EINTR. However, the application does not finish the operation. (3) The application tries to do splice(write) without pipe->nrbufs. (4) The virtio-console driver tries to touch scatterlist structure sgl in sg_init_table(), but the region is out of bound. To avoid the case, a kernel should check whether pipe->nrbufs is empty or not when splice_write is executed in the virtio-console driver. V3: Add Reviewed-by lines and stable@ line in sign-off area. commit 2117d53 upstream. em_jmp_far and em_ret_far assumed that setting IP can only fail in 64 bit mode, but syzkaller proved otherwise (and SDM agrees). Code segment was restored upon failure, but it was left uninitialized outside of long mode, which could lead to a leak of host kernel stack. We could have fixed that by always saving and restoring the CS, but we take a simpler approach and just break any guest that manages to fail as the error recovery is error-prone and modern CPUs don't need emulator for this. [ Upstream commit d0c081b ] syzbot reported yet another crash [1] that is caused by insufficient validation of DODGY packets. Two bugs are happening here to trigger the crash. 1) Flow dissection leaves with incorrect thoff field. 2) skb_probe_transport_header() sets transport header to this invalid thoff, even if pointing after skb valid data. 3) qdisc_pkt_len_init() reads out-of-bound data because it trusts tcp_hdrlen(skb) Possible fixes : - Full flow dissector validation before injecting bad DODGY packets in the stack. This approach was attempted here : https://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/ 861874/ - Have more robust functions in the core. This might be needed anyway for stable versions. This patch fixes the flow dissection issue. [ Upstream commit da71577 ] When an FDB entry is configured, the address is validated to have the length of an Ethernet address, but the device for which the address is configured can be of any type. The above can result in the use of uninitialized memory when the address is later compared against existing addresses since 'dev->addr_len' is used and it may be greater than ETH_ALEN, as with ip6tnl devices. Fix this by making sure that FDB entries are only configured for Ethernet devices. commit 6fe6046 upstream. If stack_depot_save_flags() allocates memory it always drops __GFP_NOLOCKDEP flag.
