I'd like to do this to make the UI more responsive. For example, when we change tip amounts we should react accordingly. (Do we really not already have a ticket for this?)

I did implement the "open group" voting stuff in Angular. I think that ended up on #449.

This uses a hard refresh of the page to update state. Maybe we'll have a
nice framework for doing that on-page some day (Angular? #833).

Another dumb "use this tech" ticket (cf. #795). Solve problems! Don't use technologies!
