If we want to be really friendly towards Flattr, a Flattr button could also be included automatically on all profiles. You can do that based on a Github URL, because Flattr has an opt-in claims process for Github. For the other systems that would not work, because they are either opt-out (which leads to all sorts of trouble), or require additional information (such as a Bitcoin or email address). Those have to be opt-in (i.e. have the user explicitly enable this connection on their profile page). ... if |
Have you tried putting that info in the existing textarea? I don't believe you can embed a Flattr button that way, but you should at least be able to mention and link to other services. |
Case in point: The wonderful @jashkenas has an unclaimed weekly $7.91 here on Gittip, but people can already support him via Flattr: https://flattr.com/thing/284212/jashkenas-on-Flattr |
+1 for some connection with Flattr. decentralize and collaborate! Bitcoin Address for payment to the Gittip-account would be nice. |
This particular problem is solved now: https://www.gittip.com/jashkenas/ |

Though agreeing with this, #4174 (comment) sounds convincing. Plus as suggested above, the workaround is to put in textarea. |
was: ability to add alternative donation information to your gittip profile page
It seems that all of the various micro-donation system completely ignore the others' existence, almost as if they were competitors instead of collaborators towards the same common goal.
Gittip should buck that trend and allow its users to promote their presence on the other networks as well.
There should be fields on your gittip profile information to specify information regarding your participation on Flattr, TipTheWeb, Kachingle, PayPal, Bitcoin et al.
