@alexander-fenster @schmidt-sebastian what will be our process for getting back onto the 1.8.x line of gRPC? This is a longstanding bug that 1.8.4 was supposed to fix: googleapis/google-cloud-node#2438 |

Firestore appears to have authentication issues after switching to grpc 1.8, so rolling back.
