When paper trail saves a model it uses the base class to avoid a known rails problem with single table inheritance and polymorphic associations, the history adapter was not using the base class.
The export mailer sends exported data as an attachement.

Why
When dealing with bug number of entries, the export action can take more than 30 seconds to complete. When this happens, some PaaS (for example heroku) terminates the request.
How
Fork! Run the export action in a child process and send the report by email to the
current_user.
