I'm Giorgio, an undergrad at the University of Malta studying mathematics and computer science. There, I also serve as a student representative on the Board of Studies of the Department of Mathematics. Together with some fellow students, I run the Malta Mathematical Society, where we focus on the national development of the academic mathematical disciplines.
My proudest achievement to date is my most recent startup Avail (>130k seed funds), where we strive to make private self-custody the norm in the financial world. Through deep integration with Aleo (a private-by-design blockchain) we were building a wallet to facilitate private, compliant, and seamless transactions in the real world. Now, I work with Merqury Cybersecurity, where we lead the techincal development of Malta's first test quantum key distribution network, (PRISM), as part of the EuroQCI initiative. I have also worked with Dedaub as an intern.
In my spare time, I like to play CTFs together with some friends, with whom I've had the honour to represent my country in the ECSC. In my spare spare time (if any), I like to read about quantum information, quantum cryptography, zero-knowledge cryptography and anything infosec related.
