Custom Hub for Transaction Usage

In current version, the custom hub and its embedded Scope can be used for CreateMessage/CreateEvent/CreateIssue, and the tags and contexts in Scope can be shared and reuse for those events sent via the hub's client.

What about Transaction/Span? it seems that StartSpan() can't used the hub as its parents or get any trace info.

Can you clarify what you mean by custom hub and the use-case you have in mind?

For Go Gin, custom Hub is like the code below, where we can set the user and tags in the scope.

if hub := sg.GetHubFromContext(ctx); hub != nil {
    hub.WithScope(func(scope *sentry.Scope) {
        hub.Scope().SetTag("url", ctx.Request.URL.String())
        hub.CaptureMessage("unexpected url endpoint")
    })
}

For other Go code, custom Hub is like this:

hub := sentry.CurrentHub().Clone()

We can do hub.CaptureMessage() things along with hub.PushScope() and hub.PopScope().

StartTransaction takes the Context as its first argument, and we try to extract the correct Hub from it. Did you run into any issues with that?

It's not in the latest release, and I didn't find it.

As per the PR, it seems that it can be used as root Span, and code in Gin would be like:

func handler(c *gin.Context) {
	ctx := c.Request.Context()
	span := sentry.StartTransaction(ctx, "my transaction name")
	defer span.Finish()

	// ...
}

Is my understanding correct?
